Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties Will Receive A Free Demo

More details have yet to be revealed, but it should offer a nice gameplay sampler ahead of the title's launch on February 12th.

For hardcore fans of the Yakuza series, each new title is the easiest sell, thanks to the combat, emotional storytelling, and often hilarious Substories. The same applies to Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, but those who want to try before they buy will have the option, as the PlayStation Blog confirmed a free demo in the future.

Sega revealed this after a recent press event for the title, and while it has yet to confirm a release date or the included content, there will be more details “in the future.” If it’s anything similar to last year’s Like Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, then the demo could land about a week before launch.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties launches on February 12th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s essentially a double-pack with a remake of Yakuza 3 in the Dragon Engine and a new side story focusing on antagonist Yoshitaka Mine.

While the original’s story still carries over, players can experience new activities such as managing the Morning Glory orphanage and helping the kids. Kiryu will also take on the role of “Kazzy-chan” at a host club, lead the Haisai Girls biker gang and build connections via the LaLaLa Loveland.

Mine’s story is definitely darker (no pun intended) – between diving into the underworld and beating up random foes, he can enter the Arena to inflict more violence. However, he can also fulfil requests, building up the reputation of Kanda Damage Control and getting closer to his oath brother, Tsuyoshi Kanda.
