Ys and Trails Developer Has Begun Work on a New Game

Falcom has also reached a "critical point" in the development of Ys 10: Nordics, which launches this September in Japan.

Falcom, known for the Ys and The Legend of Heroes series, is a busy studio nowadays. The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie releases on July 7th in the West, while Ys 10: Nordics arrives on September 28th in Japan. It’s also working to get The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki and Kuro no Kiseki 2 -CRIMSON SiN- released in the West.

If that wasn’t enough, it’s also begun work on a new title. Speaking to Push Square, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo said, “We have just reached a critical point in the development of Ys 10. Additionally, we have begun work on another new game.” Further details weren’t provided, but one could assume this is the next title in the Trails series, which will continue the Calvard arc.

As for when Kuro no Kiseki will receive an English localization, stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, check out our review for Trails into Reverie here. If that’s not enough to satisfy the urge for Trails titles, there’s also The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, which releases on September 19th for PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
