1.3 Million of The Witcher 3’s Sales Came From the PC Version

Out of the 4 million total.

Recently, CD Projekt RED announced that it had sold 4 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the latest (and in this case, truly, greatest) entry in its flagship Witcher franchise. The numbers were staggeringly impressive, and extremely well deserved too- however, they neglected to include any kind of a platform breakdown of sales whatsoever.

That changed today, as CD Projekt RED pointed out that 1.3 million copies of The Witcher 3 had been sold on the PC- basically, a third of the total sales came from one of three platforms. A very healthy split, in that case. 693,000 gamers worldwide are owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GoG’s own GoG Galaxy, whereas 613,000 PC gamers have chosen a different PC platform, such as Steam.

And hopefully, the game will sell many, many more copies- it truly is a modern masterpiece in every sense of the word, and a game that deserves every ounce of success that it gets.
