A New Ghost Recon Game Will be Announced Later Today

Ubisoft confirms it will be announcing a new game in the Ghost Recon franchise later today to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary.

Ubisoft confirmed earlier this year that Ghost Recon Breakpoint would continue to receive additional content and support from its developers throughout all of 2021, but once the year is up, what’s next for the series? Well, as you’d expect, there’s more on the way.

Ghost Recon will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in November, and to celebrate the occasion, Ubisoft is hosting an anniversary showcase later today, kicking off in a couple of hours at 10 AM PT. It will feature behind-the-scenes anecdotes and interviews with the developers behind the franchise, but more importantly, as the stream link’s description on YouTube confirms, it will also feature the announcement of a brand new Ghost Recon game. We’ll have quite a few details on the game for you shortly, so stay tuned for the full reveal.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint launched in 2019, and was criticized upon launch for its technical and design issues and for straying from the series’ established formula a bit too much. It should be interesting to see how Ubisoft responds, and in what manner Ghost Recon comes back.
