A Plague Tale: Requiem Developer Urges Fans to Not Post Spoilers

Those who received physical copies early are also advised to wait for the day one patch to "experience the game in better conditions."

A Plague Tale: Requiem releases next week and serves as the long-awaited follow-up to Asobo Studio’s 2019 stealth adventure. Ahead of the launch, the developer has asked fans to avoid posting spoilers.

“We kindly ask you to not spoil the game for everyone to be able to enjoy the full story of Requiem.” It’s not opposed to discussions on the title, though, as it loves “to see you chat about the Plague Tale universe, and treasure interacting with you all so much. We hold the community close to our hearts and that’s why we want all of you to respect everyone and let each other experience the game to the fullest.”

In the meantime, those looking to avoid spoilers can mute or filter out words like “A Plague Tale,” “Plague Tale,” “Amicia,” “Hugo,” and so on. Though no major leaks have been reported (yet), it seems that some players may receive the physical version ahead of the worldwide launch. Asobo noted, “If some of you receive a boxed version of the game before the release date, we strongly advise you to wait for our day one patch to experience the game in better conditions!”

Stay tuned for more details on the day one patch at launch. A Plague Tale: Requiem is out on October 18th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch (via the cloud). It sees Amicia and Hugo de Rune fleeing to the south, where mysterious island could hold the key to curing the latter’s sickness. While the former has a crossbow and more potent Alchemy, the latter can use his powers to control the plague rats.
