Activision Looking to Retrieve Sales Records With Call of Duty: Ghosts Before Next GTA

Shots somewhat fired?

Grand Theft Auto 5 managed to garner $1 billion in revenue within its first three days of release, set seven Guinness World Records, became the fastest selling title in the UK since Call of Duty: Black Ops and recently debuted in Japan at second place. You could only miss the game’s humongous financial success if you were living under a rock for the past month.

However, Call of Duty: Ghosts publisher Activision is undaunted. Speaking to MCV, UK senior brand manager Kevin Flynn stated, “Congratulations to the team at Rockstar for their success. We look forward to getting the record back before the next GTA title.”

Which is funny, considering that CEO Bobby Kotick expects the game to sell less this year due to the influx of next-generation hardware. Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on November 5th for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U, with a November 15th/29th release in North America/Europe respectively for the PS4 version. An Xbox One version will be available on November 22nd.
