When Microsoft hyped up Inside Xbox at Gamescom, it promised some “exciting” news for Age of Empires. Naturally, we assumed that Relic Entertainment’s Age of Empires 4 – announced in 2017 – would finally be revealed. We didn’t get that but the publisher has finally committed to a firm gameplay reveal date.
Speaking to GameStar at Gamescom, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg said that Age of Empires 4 would be revealed on November 14th. This is the same date that X019, Microsoft’s biggest iteration of the event till date, will take. What exactly will be showcased remains to be seen but it’s good news all the same.
It also marks the day that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will release. The remaster will include the base game with all of its expansions and release on Steam, the Windows Store and Xbox Game Pass for PC. In the meantime, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition can be played on Steam and Xbox Game Pass now.
