At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Remedy Entertainment debuted new trailer of Alan Wake 2, finally giving us a new look at the titular protagonist and The Dark Place, after previously having focused on newcomer Saga Anderson, who’s in Bright Falls. That’s not all, however, because Alan Wake 2 gameplay footage is also starting to emerge from Gamescom, and the survival horror title is continuing to look impressive.
The new gameplay footage focuses on Alan, who finds himself trapped in The Dark Place, a twisted, nightmare world made by his troubled mind. There’s plenty that’s showcased in over a dozen minutes of footage, including a little bit of combat, the atmospheric New York City-inspired environments of The Dark Place, how the game will make use of live action sequences, and Alan’s own Mind Palace, which sees him manipulating and changing his surroundings in The Dark Place through his writing. Alan Wake 2 launches on October 27 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
