With so many major releases out of the way, it’s easy to forget that Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 is out this week. PC requirements for the survival horror game were recently revealed, and they’re steep. It also doesn’t help that communications director Thomas Puha recently said Performance Mode on consoles “mostly” runs at 60 FPS.
Puha has since taken to Twitter, stating, “Folks worrying about the console versions of Alan Wake 2… smh, and I am smiling. As I’ve said, we’ve taken great care of consoles and focused on those. I think most of you will be very positively surprised.”
He also offered more details on support for the PS5’s DualSense, noting that players will “feel” the raindrops. The haptic triggers also let each weapon feel different, distinguishing a shotgun from a crossbow. Of course, if all this isn’t to your preference, Puha confirms you can turn it off. The DualSense functionality also extends to PC, which is nice.
Alan Wake 2 launches on October 27th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Epic Games Store. Stay tuned for the Xbox Partner Preview showcase on October 25th, where the launch trailer will debut.
