Alan Wake 2’s Latest Update Brings Chapter-Specific Fixes

The newest update for Alan Wake 2 is now available, and it's a pretty small once, addressing fixes for a couple of very specific bugs.

Remedy Entertainment is continuing to release updates for Alan Wake 2 to address lingering bugs and technical issues that players have been experiencing in the acclaimed survival horror sequel, and another update has now been released.

The newest update is a fairly small one, especially compared to the previous update (which brought over 200 fixes), and tackles very specific bugs that some have encountered in the game, including the Alan chapter Room 665, and the Saga chapter Local Girl, as well as a bug in the game’s prologue that was specific to Xbox Series X/S. You can get the full details in the brief patch notes below.

Remedy Entertainment isn’t quite done yet with Alan Wake 2, of course. In addition to patches and updates, the developer is also working on adding Nightmare difficulty and New Game Plus, while the game will also receive two expansions in 2024.

In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Alan Wake 2 is a fantastic horror game with some excellent atmosphere and an incredibly interesting story. While it does make use of jump scares that feel downright unnecessary, thankfully, the other horror aspects of the game are more than up to the task of creeping you out.” Read the full review through here.

Alan Wake 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

UPDATE NOTES:

  • (Xbox Series) – A workaround fix for the issue where the audio cut out intermittently in the Prologue. We are expecting a full fix for this issue in an upcoming update.
  • ROOM 665: Fixed an issue (again) with the Echo scene not aligning and unlocking correctly (this was fixed in the previous update, but Echo hell still persisted)
  • LOCAL GIRL: Fixed an issue with a mouse (with a big presence) blocking progress.
