Anthem, Bioware’s New IP, Gameplay Footage Looks Absolutely Stunning

Looks seriously impressive.

Anthem, Bioware’s new IP, was shown off as the closer at Microsoft’s E3 2017 press show today. The game is, as rumored, a co-op loot shooter set in a dynamic open world- so basically, it is Bioware’s take on the Destiny and Division formula.

In Anthem, each player owns a variety of exosuits known in game as Javelins, each which get the player a variety of superhuman abilities and powers. It seems like there will be dynamic objectives, and some enemies shown that will need to be taken down were pretty damn big- battles with them should be thrilling, that’s for sure.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the game can actually make much headway in a market that is dominated by Borderlands, Destiny, and The Division– really, Destiny, with other games only having found varying degrees of success. But what we’ve seen seems to be great, and the game should definitely make a convincing case for itself, if nothing else.

Anthem will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2018.
