Anthem Is Not Being Delayed, BioWare Quashes Speculation

The shared world shooter is still scheduled for a February 2019 release.

BioWare has quashed rumours about Anthem’s development being in a flux, and the game being primed for another delay as a result of development issues. The speculation mounted recently when the person who leaked that Sony will be revealing the PS5 next year (and also leaked their E3 2019 cancellation before the official announcement) claimed that Anthem in its current form was “a mess” and that BioWare and EA were gearing up to delay the game again from its February 22, 2019 release.

However, BioWare’s Mark Darrah, executive producer on the upcoming shared world shooter, recently took to Twitter to make it clear that the speculation is false, and that the game will hit its currently planned release date. “Our release date is February 22, 2019,” Darrah wrote. “Same as always.”

Back when it was first released, Anthem was initially scheduled for a late 2018 launch, before EA officially delayed it into early next year. And it seems like that’s going to be it as far as delays are concerned- which is a relief for all concerned.

Recently, gameplay footage of Anthem was shown off in a livestream, focusing on the Javelins’ abilities and ultimates, while second livestream focused more on their visual personalization aspects. Be sure to check out both livestreams through the links.
