A few days ago, there was a report stating that Bioware was now focusing entirely on the upcoming GaaS shared world shooter Anthem, and that the performance of that game would determine their future in some way or the other. One of the things the report clearly stated was that the game would be delayed from late this year to early next year.
Today, that part of the report has been confirmed to be true, with EA confirming in their investor meeting that Anthem will be launching in Q1 2019 now. EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen insisted that this is “not a delay”, and that this is just part and parcel of trying to create a story. EA’s statement also denies the Kotaku story, although, of course, the confirmation of the game’s delay makes said denials look a little suspect.
Anthem was originally revealed at E3 last year. It is due to come out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
