FromSoftware has debuted over 12 minutes of gameplay footage for its upcoming mech combat title, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. It sees the player controlling C4-621 as they venture into the desolate Rubicon 3 and battle some hostile Armored Cores before coming face-to-face with a massive helicopter boss.
The customization screen is shown next, with players able to equip different backpack equipment to suit their playstyle. There’s a main mission that involves taking down a massive Strider. As the player speeds through the dusty wasteland, taking out enemies, they arrive at the towering machine. First, a leg must be destroyed to halt its movement.
Doing so allows traversing the deck to take down the sub-generators. Sub-missions also pop up and involve teaming with allies ACs. Players will complete objectives like protecting targets, gathering information and slaying foes, eventually going up against other skilled pilots.
The preview ends with a boss battle against a mass AC with rockets, flame-throwers and more. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is out on August 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Though FromSoftware hasn’t confirmed it, you can expect PvP support for up to six players.
