Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Map Size is Comparable to Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Unity

Mirage's setting of Baghdad will be roughly as large as Revelations' Constantinople and Unity's Paris.

After having delivered three massive open world action RPGs with Origins, Odyssey, and ValhallaAssassin’s Creed is ready to go back to its roots with its next instalment. Due out this October, Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks set to deliver a tighter, denser, and smaller experience- but exactly how large can we expect its open world setting of 9th century Baghdad to be?

According to the developers, there are a couple of older entries in the franchise that players can use to get a good idea of how large Mirage’s map will be. In a recent hands-on impressions video, Easy Allies’ Michael Huber said that the developers have told him Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Baghdad will be roughly as large as Assassin’s Creed Revelations’ Constantinople and Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Paris.

Of course, the two aforementioned open world maps weren’t small by any stretch of the imagination, but at the very least, those who may have been worried about Mirage feeling bloated and unnecessarily large (as has often been the case with Ubisoft games in recent years) will probably be relieved to hear that that’s unlikely to be the case.

Earlier this year, Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s creative director Stéphane Boudon said that the action-adventure title’s development team had decided to design it as a more “intimate” and “focused” experience due to fans’ criticism of some of the series’ more bloated recent entries. Meanwhile, it’s previously also been confirmed that Mirage will have much shorter runtime than the likes of Odyssey and Valhalla at around 15-20 hours.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches on October 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
