While the Assassin’s Creed franchise has always been a fantastical series, and gotten more and more fantastical as it’s gone on, the series has always strived to create some type of historical connection to the area and time period you’re playing in. Even as the series has gotten more fantasy-based, Ubisoft has taken the opportunity to still teach some history with their games with their popular Discovery Tour expansions. Origins and Odyssey got one, and now it’s time for Valhalla to get something similar.
In a press release, Ubisoft confirmed that the expansion will come to all platforms next month. Like previous games, this mode will be purely historical in nature, allowing you to go to the various places rendered in Valhalla and the historical information about it. The PC version also will get a paid standalone version at the same time called Discovery Tour: Viking Age. A first will be that the standalone version will also come to consoles and streaming at some point in 2022.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on most major platforms. The Discovery Tour expansion will launch on October 19th as a free update to all versions. You can read about the latest title update for the game through here.
