Astral Chain Debuts on Top of UK Charts, Control Takes Fourth Spot

Man of Medan debuts in third place.

UKIE / Gfk Chart-Track have released the newest weekly charts for video game sales in the UK, and last week was dominated a bunch of older releases taking the top positions, the week ending August 31st sees a bunch of new releases claiming these top spots.

On the very top of Astral ChainPlatinumGames’ new Nintendo Switch-exclusive IP, which, after solid reviews all around, has sold the most throughout the week- impressively enough, with just two days on the market. Wreckfest, which saw its console release last week, is in second place.

Man of MedanSupermassive Games’ new horror adventure title, debuts in third place. Meanwhile, Remedy Entertainment’s Control takes the fourth spot in its debut week. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which topped sales charts last week, has dropped down to fifth place, followed by consistently well-performing titles such as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and Super Mario Maker 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man, thanks to a price drop (and possibly thanks to its new Game of the Year Edition), has seen a massive boost in sales, jumping up from thirty-fourth place last week to the eight spot this week. It’s followed by Grand Theft Auto 5 and The Division 2 to round out the rest of the top 10.
