Back Catalog Call of Duty Titles Could be Announced for Game Pass in June – Rumour

It's been claimed that Microsoft is preparing an announcement related to past Call of Duty titles at its summer showcase.

It recently emerged via leaks that Microsoft is allegedly set to announce this year’s Call of Duty game, allegedly titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, in June, including showing at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9. Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson has corroborated those claims in a separate report– and interestingly, Henderson claims that won’t be the only Call of Duty-related announcement in June.

As per Henderson, with the Activision Blizzard acquisition having been finalized last year, Microsoft is now “gearing up” for an announcement related to back catalog Call of Duty titles in June. In all likelihood, if such an announcement is made, it will be for previous Call of Duty games joining the library of titles available to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscribers.

Microsoft recently kickstarted the process of bringing Activision Blizzard games to Game Pass, with Diablo 3 launching for the service in late March.

In 2022, prior to its acquisition of Activision Blizzard being approved, Microsoft said Call of Duty games wouldn’t appear on Game Pass for “a number of years”, owing to marketing exclusivity agreement for the franchise between PlayStation and Activision Blizzard. That deal expires this year.
