Baldur’s Gate 3 – Hotfix 9 is Now Live, Magic Mirror Now Supports Hirelings

You can now customize the appearance of your Hirelings and change your character's name using the newly added Magic Mirror.

Just days after deploying hotfix 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios has announced that hotfix 9 is now live. It features an array of fixes for bugs and crashes while extending the Magic Mirror’s functionality to Hirelings. If you want to adjust their appearance (within limits), that’s now possible.

The Magic Mirror can also change your character’s name. Other changes include fixes for a rare crash occurring when unloading or quick loading, GPU crashes on Vulkan for the PS5, a split-screen issue on PS5, and more. A bug that prevented Minthara’s romance from triggering has also been fixed.

Check out the full hotfix notes for more details. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5 and PC – check out our reviews here and here. It’s received extensive critical acclaim since its release and will launch between now and November for Xbox Series X/S (though it won’t support local split-screen on the Series S). Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
