Battlefield 5 Developer Banned From Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Now Unbanned

It seems to me as though he was banned from the game for being too good at it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launched a couple weeks ago, and in spite of some issues it has, it’s great game that people all around the world have been enjoying. That includes the folks over at DICE, the developers of rival Battlefield series. Or, well, at least, they were.

Florian Le Bihan, core gameplay designer on Battlefield 5, took to Twitter to note that he has been banned from playing Black Ops 4 online. He posted a video showing a clip of him playing, apparently in a bid to absolve himself of any wrongdoing. To be fair to him, from what I can see in the video, he just appears to be… very good at the game, and doesn’t seem to be doing anything wrong.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that another player thought he was cheating, and flagged him for abuse, and an automated system banned him. There certainly doesn’t seem to be any malicious intent on Treyarch or Activision’s part in his banning. The good news is that he proceeded to post that he can play the game again shortly afterwards, so it looks like he was unbanned, and this story has a happy ending.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Battlefield 5 launches on November 20 for those same platforms.
