DICE’s Battlefield 5 will finally enter the battle royale arena on March 25th when Firestorm releases. We’ve received several details about the mode since the official reveal trailer, including how the new map Halvøy is the largest in the series. However, in a new tweet, the development team showcased just how much bigger it really is.
This was done by taking Hamada, the current largest map in the game, and comparing it in scale to Halvøy in a new tweet. Halvøy is ten times larger. That’s a whole lot of space to traverse, though players will have a number of vehicles, including helicopters, for help.
Battlefield 5’s Firestorm will feature up to 64 players in each match. That means 16 squads of four players each (though the tutorial leak indicated that Solos and Duos are also coming). It includes the detailed destruction of the core multiplayer experience, while also throwing in Objectives that unlock gear, weapons, and supplies. Stay tuned for more details when the mode eventually goes live.
