Battlefield Hardline: Details On Attachments, Perks, Field Upgrades, Loadouts And Glitches

Lead multiplayer designer, Thaddeus Sasser reveals a lot of information regarding Hardline's multiplayer.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the life and soul of a Battlefield game is its online multiplayer. And that’s more true than ever with Battlefield Hardline, the latest upcoming offering from Visceral Games and EA. Earlier this week, the games lead multiplayer designer, Thaddeus Sasser, took to Twitter in a bid to answer a number of questions that were put to him by fans of the series.

When one Battlefield player asked him whether there any guns, attachment or gadgets which haven’t been shown to community yet, he assured the gamer that there most certainly will be. “Maaaybe. There’s no level cap or lock restrictions on the Beta, so check it out and let us know what you think!”

Because a lot of players aim for the chest rather than risking a missed shot at the head, one user asked whether there is going to be a Perk or Field Upgrade to reduce Damage to the Chest similar to Battlefield 4 to which Thaddeus replied, “There’s no perk or field upgrade for this, but there is an Armored Insert gadget for the Mechanic class.”

Another user asked about loadout switching, asking whether it would be possible to implement character customization between rounds, to which Thaddeus answered, “That was one of the most requested changes – you can do this in single-elim modes now.”

You may also be glad to hear that the infamous “Head Glitch” shouldn’t be making an appearance in Hardline as “the level designers have worked hard to avoid creating this situation in the maps.” Punkbuster and Fair Fight will, for better or for worse, be making a return to help deter cheating and hacking in the game. Thaddeus also revealed that he would like Hardline to go competitive since they have two modes designed specifically around competitive play – Rescue and Crosshair.
