PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta 3 has been in development for a long time. Initially announced at The Game Awards 2017, it finally received some gameplay last year along with 2022 release window. Lest one would think it slips again, Nintendo revealed in its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2022 that it’s still coming this year.
This was filed under its “previously announced titles” slide along with games like Mario Strikers: Battle League, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (which receives some new details today), Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3. It’s not the only title without a firm release date though as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are still slated for late 2022.
Stay tuned for more details on a date in the coming months (perhaps at the next major Nintendo Direct). Nintendo also confirmed in the same financial results that the Nintendo Switch has sold 107.65 million units worldwide. It also provided updated sales numbers for Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons along with Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Metroid Dread.
