Black Ops 2 PC being developed “simultaneously with the other platforms” by a “dedicated PC team”

Call of Duty has always treated the PC as a second tier system, giving priority to the Xbox 360 and the PS3. This time around, however, with Black Ops 2, Treyarch is giving equal attention to the PC. The dev has confirmed that the team is being made on the PC at the same time as the consoles, and by a different, dedicated team put together specifically for the system.

“PC version is developed by a dedicated pc team simultaneously with the other platforms,” Treyarch’s director of technology, Cesar Stastny said.

He went on to reassure fans that BlOps 2 on the PC will punish cheaters as much as it can. “BO2 built from the ground up to catch cheaters,” he said.

“Every popular pc title is hacked upon release,” he said via another Tweet. “We are improving our ability to detect and ban based on lessons learned on blackops.”

Black Ops 2 comes out this November for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Stay tuned for more updates.
