Bloober Team has been around for a while now, and with the likes of Layers of Fear, Observer, and The Medium under its belt, the Polish studio has certainly established itself as a known quantity in the industry, especially where horror games are concerned. However, the developer has ambitions plans for aggressive growth in the future- as is evidenced by the fact that it has partnered with Konami to work on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which is close to wrapping up development.
In fact, Bloober Team is expecting significant growth in its games’ sales in the future as well. Speaking recently to Polish outlet Bankier, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said that the studio is expecting 10 million copies sold to be a realistic target for its games in the future.
“You can assume that 10 million copies sold is a reach that will be real for us soon,” he said.
The studio is hoping to become the leading developer of horror games in the industry, which is a target it is hoping to achieve by 2027.
:To be the best horror house we have to focus on more publishing activity and have more projects than one game every year and a half, two years,” Babieno said. “That is why the second pillar of Bloober’s strategy is based on cooperation with strategic partners.
“We want our titles to be not only milestones for the genre in the future, but also for the entire industry. We’ve said many times that our goal is where Naughty Dog or Ninja Theory are.”
Bloober Team currently has a number of projects in the works. In addition to the aforementioned Silent Hill 2 remake, the developer is currently also working on Layers of Fear, which is due out in June, while it’s also working on an unannounced survival horror title with Private Division. The studio has also collaborated with Rogue Games and Draw Distance for additional projects.
Recently, Babieno also said that Bloober Team plans to remain independent for the foreseeable future- read more on that through here.
