“Why isn’t Borderlands on the Switch already?” is a question we all keep asking ourselves. Prior to the reveal of Borderlands 3, when Gearbox Software were teasing several announcements related to the series, many assumed that one of them would be Switch port of one of the earlier Borderlands titles. That, of course, didn’t end up happening, leaving us all asking that question again.
Over on Twitter, a response to that question by Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford might have given us a bit of a ray of hope. When asked if there was any chance we might see a Borderlands game on the Switch, ever, Pitchford responded, simply, “I would love to see that happen.”
Now of course, that isn’t much of an announcement (not at all, really), and one would assume that the recently released Bordelands: Game of the Year Edition might have been a great way to bring the series to the Switch. But given the fact that Borderlands even ended up coming over to the PS Vita, it’s not much of a stretch to assume (or hope) that the same might happen with the Switch as well. One day. Maybe.
It might not be on the Switch, but we do have more Borderlands stuff to look forward to- a gameplay reveal event for Borderlands 3, which is out on September 13, has been announced for May 1. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for all the coverage.
