The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to leaks but given the treatment that Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been given, it’s amazing that there’s still so much about the game that we don’t know. That is, until a Twitch user recently streamed footage of the game online which revealed several aspects of the multiplayer which hadn’t been known till now (and which we won’t be spoiling for you).
Studio co-founder Glen Schofield expressed his disappointment on Twitter, stating that, “We took 3 years 2 make a game. Kept it quiet 4 the fans & it has to be stolen & leaked a week b4. That sucks. A real bummer. Thanks a lot.”
You could say, as one Twitter user said, that the leak provides more information on the game in the lead-up to its release. Schofield responded, “I realize that but stealing and releasing is not the answer.”
The Twitch channel in question has been shut down and the footage pulled but the information got out there. What’s next before Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases on November 4th? We’ll find out soon.
