Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare May Have Potential for Sequel

Co-founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield also tall about the game's sci-fi aspects.

Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare hasn’t even been released yet but the developer says the story has been written considering its longevity. Speaking to Game Informer, Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey indicated that a sequel to the game seems normal.

“There has to be some thinking of not ruining the story and everything or the world so you can’t have another game. We’re keeping it in a place where another game can exist.”

Condrey also talked about the sci-fi concepts in the game and how much of it was based off of current research. “Some of the the things we found through research of what’s going on in the military today and around the world was more fantastic than even the things we were coming up with. And so I think that time period and that ability to keep it rooted means that our fans, ourselves – you know, it’s not that fictional leap to a science fiction world you can’t relate to.”

Co-founder Glen Schofield further stated that, “Science fiction icons, we stayed away from. So you won’t see the traditional mech. Even though that may happen, people automatically go, ‘Sci-fi.’ So, we’re kind of trying to stay away from that.”

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is slated to release on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Stay tuned for more information.
