Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Might’ve Had Bryan Cranston as Antagonist

Something something the one who knocks.

Kevin Spacey made a huge impact when he was introduced as the voice and likeness for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s antagonist Jonathan Irons. It helps that he tapped into his House of Cards persona Frank Underwood for that special bit of evil but Sledgehammer Games had considered other actors for the role, including Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston.

Speaking to IGN, co-founder Michael Condrey stated that, “At one point, at the height of Breaking Bad, I thought this could be a [Bryan] Cranston role. Bobby Kotick, the president of Activision, is close to Angelina and Brad, so you kind of have these pie in the sky sort of, well, if this actor…

“But really, for the character, [on] the list the gap between Kevin and everybody else was pretty wide. Cranston just won the Emmy so he’s clearly a remarkable actor. I think he would have been great.”
