Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is finally confirmed to NOT be coming to the Nintendo Wii U. Co-founder Michael Condrey clarified this on his Twitter account.
“No, no Wii U. That was an Activision decision. We are focused on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.”
Sledgehammer Games is working on the current gen versions of the futuristic shooter while High Moon Studios, known for the Transformer: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games, will be developing the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Till now, it was somewhat assumed that Advanced Warfare would be heading to the Wii U but the console has been losing third party support steadily since its release. With the new age visuals and lack of any real sales on the Wii U, it only makes sense for Sledgehammer to focus on the current generation.
Could Activision change it’s mind and eventually bring the game to Wii U? That remains to be seen but it’s highly unlikely at this point.
