Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One Resolution Will Best Ghosts’ 720p

Extra development time allows Sledgehammer Games to be ahead of last year's iteration.

If you were disappointed by Call of Duty: Ghosts’ graphics, especially the 792p resolution it featured for the Xbox One version, then congratulations. You’re not the first. Nonetheless, Sledgehammer Games chief operating and development officer Michael Condrey has confirmed that in the case of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare it will be different.

“Yeah, we talked about that around the studio a lot,” he said in conversation with OXM. Condrey feels the hardware is “super-exciting, because you see the potential of the new hardware platform, what it can enable. And you know that you’re going into a period where you have to figure out the how. How do I do all these cool new things? And you have the excitement of the R&D process.

“The fact that we’ve had three years to develop our new tech, three years to learn the console has been really exciting. So we’re still optimising, but what I can tell you is that we’re definitely ahead of where the franchise was last year.”

Does that mean better performance on the Xbox One for Advanced Warfare? We’ll find out when it releases on November 4th.
