Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has already been hyped enough prior to its release and while that may seem par for the course of any Call of Duty title, we can’t remember this much positive reception towards last year’s Ghosts. During a Best Buy Google Hangout, studio co-founder Michael Condrey talks about the development of the game and how three years – as opposed to the earlier cycle of two – helped the game in the long run.
“I think that was really what that extra year gave us, the chance to break a few things. To maybe alienate a few ideas to bring Sledgehammer’s take to Call of Duty. And maybe push boundaries further than people were comfortable and then pull it back if we went too far.”
Though the Exo Suit does bring a whole new degree of verticality and freshness to the experience, Condrey says that hardcore fans need not worry. “It feels like Call of Duty and everything about that gun-on-gun action that you know and love; and high production values of campaign. But, you’ve never played Call of Duty this way before.”
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases on November 4th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
