Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Back at Number 1 on UK Software Charts

Knocks DmC: Devil May Cry down to number 4.

For all the controversy and mystery surrounding Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil May Cry, with the game premiering number 1 in the UK sales charts on release, it seems that era was rather short-lived as Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is number 1 again on the UK sales charts according to Gfk-Chart Track and UKIE.

Back in black, indeed.

Perhaps more surprisingly, FIFA 13 has been beaten to stay at number 2 while Far Cry 3 climbs to number 3.

The usual suspects stayed within the top 20, with Assassin’s Creed 3 now in the top 5 due to recent discounts and Halo 4 resurfacing at number 13. Then again, considering that it came out in the same month as Black Ops 2, it’s a bit sobering to compare the success stories.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, for those who didn’t know, was under fire for seemingly decreased year-to-year sales compared to Modern Warfare 3. But with the extraordinary success it’s enjoying, could that analysis also be short-lived?
