Call of Duty Black Ops 2 shatters Gamestop pre-order records

7 million target seems possible.

You want to see Call of Duty brand declining? Well, that’s not gonna happen with Black Ops 2 because according to Gamestop president Tony Bartel, it has shattered the pre-order records for the mega store.

It seems to be on track for a massive launch later this year and will it surpass 7 million sold in a week? Only time will tell. Every Call of Duty launch after CoD: World at War has been the “biggest entertainment launch” ever, so this looks to maintain the trend.

“Consumer anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history. With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time,” he said.

Elite service will become free now to all members. You can also buy the season pass for the game. The game comes out on November 13 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Thanks, CVG.
