Call of Duty Black Ops 2 to get a FOV patch, stats won’t be reset for playing before launch

FOV increased.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out today and we have a bit more information on the PC version of the game. One Treyarch PC developer has revealed that a FOV increase patch is in the works and will be deployed after launch.

It was revealed that the FOV would be 80 on the PC which caused a bit of displeasure to PC gamers, because you know how stingy they are with their FOV and stuff. The optimal levels would be 90-100 or more.

“On the post-launch patch task list: 90 FOV,” the developer tweeted.

David Vonderhaar, game director of Black Ops 2, also tweeted that people who obtained the game early won’t have their stats reset at launch but if someone manages to cheat the system, and they will know who did what, then the chances or reset or being banned are higher.

They released a ban enforcement policy earlier which you can check out over here.

“FAQ. Will people be reset? A. Read the previously linked Security/Enforcement policy. Unless you are a bad person doing bad things, no,” he tweeted.

The game’s street date has been broken in Europe via Simply Games, and while such a thing is sometimes frowned upon, it’s a normal practice for developers to react with aggressive patches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out on November 13 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
