We already knew that Sony had co-branding and marketing rights for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (they are marketing PlayStation as the ‘new home of Call of Duty’); what we didn’t know was just how far they would run with this. Today, Sony confirmed the existence of a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 limited edition PS4 console.
“This PS4 features the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 ember orange logo on a Jet Black chassis, complete with colored power and eject buttons, as well as three emblems on the front each representing a game mode — the SOG Skull signifies campaign, the Winslow Accord faction logo is pulled straight from the game’s fiction, representing one of the factions you play in multiplayer, and “the mark” denotes zombies,” Sony said on the PlayStation Blog.
“The DualShock 4 included has a grey and orange color scheme, along with the III logo on the right grip. We’ll also sell the DualShock 4 as a standalone item separately from the bundle,” they added, assuring probably countless people who like the Special Edition hardware, but already own a PS4.
The bundle will also come with a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and it will include 1TB of on board storage- the first time this configuration is being made available in North America.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in November.
