This year’s Call of Duty game, Black Ops 4, will have a battle royale mode, in an attempt to cash in on the latest multiplayer craze that is sweeping the market (after all, Fortnite is currently the most popular game in the world). Now, we finally get to see what the battle royale mode in the game will play like when the beta for the Blackout mode launches on September 10.
As has been the case for while now, the beta will be playable first on PS4, and it will follow later on other platforms (presumably, this means the Xbox One and/or PC beta will be the week following September 10). Additionally, you won’t have to download anything additional- if you’ve got the current beta downloaded, that will automatically update on the date to become the Blackout beta.
We don’t know much else right now- amazingly enough, we don’t even know how many players will be on the map at a time (recent reports suggested that it may be fewer than 100)- but I guess that’s what this beta is for- to answer questions such as that one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this October.
