Eurogamer has revealed the European rating for Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic America and features a group of mask-wearing Special Forces soldiers murdering their way past any resistance. And it turns out that it will be carrying a 16 rating. Interestingly, promotional material for the game showcased an 18 certificate, which means that its primarily aimed at adults.
But a 16 rating for Ghosts marks the first time a Call of Duty title hasn’t received the 18 rating in roughly five years. Flashing back to the stuffing of broken glass into a prisoner’s mouth, the hanging of your worst foe and an airport massacre, it seems that Ghosts just isn’t that graphic overall.
What are your thoughts on the same? Call of Duty: Ghosts releases on November 5th worldwide for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, with a PS4 release due on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe and an Xbox One release set for November 22nd.
