Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Developer Investigating Exploit That Allows Sprinting While Prone

The "Snaking" exploit is only available for keyboard and mouse users, but cross-platform play means console players are also affected.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is only two weeks old, and while it set engagement records for the new trilogy, there have been several issues. Terrible spawns, which resulted in some maps being disabled in Hardpoint, inconsistent Battle Pass XP gains (which are now fixed), and more have cropped up. The latest is an exploit which allows players to sprint while prone.

As seen in the clip below courtesy of @74Claw on Twitter, the “Snaking” exploit allows you to become a smaller target and harder to hit. It’s only available for keyboard and mouse users but can also affect console players, thanks to cross-platform play. Sledgehammer hasn’t provided an ETA on a fix, so stay tuned for more updates.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our review here, where we awarded it 5 out of 10. You can also see what other critics said, as the sequel is currently the worst-reviewed mainline game in the franchise.
