The time of year when Activision unveils the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise is approaching, and the people working on the first person shooter are beginning to build up to the reveal. In fact, recent social media activity by Sledgehammer Games, who’s rumoured to be the lead developer on this year’s entry, seems to be teasing an imminent announcement.
Recently, Sledgehammer uploaded the banner image on its Twitter profile, with one of the Es in its name being shown as Roman numeral three on its side, leading many to speculate that the studio is hinting at reveal for this year’s game, which is set to be a follow-up to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. What’s more, the E also looks more than a little similar to the recently-leaked logo for the game. The leak was also acknowledged by the developer.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Activision was showing off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to NBA players behind-closed-doors. Reports have claimed that the game is set to be announced in early August, ahead of launch in November.
