Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Is “Fully Optimized” For PC; Features Widescreen Support, FOV Slider, Uncapped Framerates

Activision also re-iterates the game will use input matchmaking for cross-play.

Thanks to its recent multiplayer reveal event, we’ve been getting a lot of new information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Those playing on PC will likely be wondering how the game will run on their preferred platform, and judging by information coming from Activision, it’s going to at least have all the basic necessities covered.

Via DualShockers, Activision has said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s PC version – for which Infinity Ward are being aided by Beenox – will be “fully optimized”. That means the PC version will have HDR support, support for widescreen and multi-monitor displays, FOV sliders, and uncapped framerates- all of which are things that PC players will be glad to hear.

Activision has also re-iterated that for cross-platform play, Modern Warfare will use input matchmaking, and that players will have the option of opting in (or out) should they wish to do so. “We’re going to be matchmaking by peripheral, so if you’re a keyboard player you’re going to play with other keyboard players,” said Multiplayer Design Director Joe Cecot. “But, if you’re a console player and you’re playing on a gamepad you can actually opt in… We also don’t let you change your controller or peripheral mid-match, so once you’ve chosen it, it’s locked in.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out on October 25th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A multiplayer beta for the game will go live in September.
