Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Feature Input Matchmaking In Cross-Play

Don’t fear the mouse and keyboard.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

The latest Call of Duty is coming in October, and with it come some pretty serious changes. It will not have a “traditional” season pass (though we aren’t sure what will be replacing it just yet), and the tone of the game seems much more sober than previous entries. Maybe one of the biggest things it’s bringing, though, is cross-play. As far as how it will work- well those playing on consoles who are sweating a bit that they may run into a PC player with a keyboard and mouse, don’t worry. The game will have a matchmaking process based on input.

As detailed by Forbes, the game will employ a feature similar to Fortnite, another multiplatform title with cross-play. Instead of just throwing everyone into one big bowl, the game will specifically match you to someone who is playing with your input. That means that those on a pad won’t have to worry about getting stomped by those with a keyboard and mouse. Though maybe you’re so good you don’t have that worry, but consider it insurance. You can still party with friends on PC, however, and then you will be thrown in the mix with other PC players and will have to tough it out best you can.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release October 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
