It looks like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the best game of last year by our reckoning, has been very good or its developer CD Projekt RED, and their parent company CD Projekt- in their latest financial report (via NeoGAF), the company reported that the company’s stock price has continued to rise on the back of The Witcher 3‘s success, jumping by as much as 67% since the beginning of this year.

The result of all this? CD Projekt are now worth over $1 billion- this should come as excellent news to their fans, because it means that they will be able to deliver top of the line products with their games going forward, too. The company generated revenue of $82 million in the last quarter, of which $34.7 million was profit.

CD Projekt also discussed how they plan to continue to make money going forward- their strategy hinges primarily on GOG Galaxy, their client for their GoG storefront, which they plan to make more integral to their own games going forward; in the short term, they are also hoping that Gwent, the card game from The Witcher 3 that they are now developing into its own product, will generate revenue, especially owing to the game being targeted at the eSports crowd. As a result of Gwent‘s importance, it has a team of 100 people working on it.

CD Projekt also sounded off on mobile, stating that while they have no current plans, they do like mobile- in the long run, don’t be surprised to see them pushing out games for phones. Gwent itself seems to be a primary candidate, especially given that Hearthstone and The Elder Scrolls Legends are both on smartphones.
