You don’t ordinarily expect (or, at times, even want) to see real-time strategy titles releasing for consoles, given how PC-centric the genre has always inherently been (and continues to be), but of course, it’s not like it’s never been known to happen. Just recently, in fact, it was announced that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 4 will both be releasing for Xbox next year– and now, it seems like 2023 will bring another new RTS to consoles.
As spotted by Gematsu, it seems like Company of Heroes 3 has received classification ratings for consoles in Taiwan, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions being mentioned in its rating from the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee.
Currently, of course, Relic Entertainment and Sega’s World War 2 strategy game has only been announced for PC, but a classification rating generally tends to be pretty concrete evidence of upcoming releases, so it wouldn’t be surprising at this point to see Sega make some sort of an official announcement in the near future.
Following its recent delay, Company of Heroes 3 is set to launch for PC on February 23, 2023.
