Remedy’s Control has looked extremely intriguing since the day it was first revealed, back at E3 2018, and we’ve now received a lot of interesting new details about it. Thanks to a rapid fire interview held by Game Informer with game director Mikael Kasurinen as part of their cover story for the month, some new info on the game has emerged.
The game’s confirmed to have post-launch content through DLC, but Kasurinen also confirms that there will be no microtransactions whatsoever. Something else that won’t be in the game? A photo mode- at least at launch. That said, there will still be plenty to look and gawk at, with Remedy allegedly doing everything in their power to squeeze out every bit of power in the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro.
The game will, of course, also afford the powers of flight to players, which will supposedly offer more control than something like, say, Anthem (which is saying a lot). Weapons will be upgradable, while there will also be skill trees. There’s also an automatic cover system in place. Level design, according to Kasurinen, is not linear at all, while he also teases some crazy twists in the story.
There’s a lot more information in there, so take a look at the interview below. Control is due out later this year (no specific release date confirmed) for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
