Control, the next title from Remedy, developer of the likes of Max Payne series and Alan Wake, isn’t out quite yet, but the studio is already looking to the future with its post-release content for the game. We already know that the game will have two expansions after its launch (which you can read about here), but it seems it will also be seeing some updates in between the base game’s launch and the expansions, according to Communications Director Thomas Puha.
“There’s going to be two expansions, and there’s going to be some content in-between the main game and the expansions,” said Puha while speaking with VG247.
He also talked about a hopeful timeframe for the first expansion, with Remedy aiming for a late 2019 release, and quelled fears that either expansions will be comprised of content that was cut from the base game, a common complaint about post-release content.
“I think we’ve said that the first one we’re aiming for is winter 2019, so somewhere there,” he said. “I get that there’s concern that people are like, ‘Oh, they’re cutting content already from the game’. No, we’re not.”
Control will release August 27th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (as a timed exclusive to the Epic Game Store). You can read more about the game and its influences and watch gameplay footage in the meantime.
