Cyberpunk 2077 Could “Possibly” Release On Next-Gen Consoles – CDPR

However, the developers remain focused on the game's looming April launch on current gen consoles for now.

As console generations come to a close, we see developers across the industry managing to squeeze every last drop of potential from consoles, delivering some truly stunning games. It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be one of those games for the PS4 and Xbox One- and CD Projekt RED themselves have definitely been touting it as such themselves, too.

There is, however, also a pretty good chance that CDPR will also choose to bring the game over to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X when they launch, releasing a version of Cyberpunk 2077 that runs and looks even better, and also potentially selling a lot more copies in the process. In fact, the developer says it’s not impossible.

Responding to a question in a private conversation on Twitter (via Reddit), CDPR said about whether a next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 could happen, “Possibly, however current generation is our main focus at the moment.”

CD Projekt RED have, in the past, mentioned that they would “probably like to have” their upcoming RPG on next-gen consoles. Though it’s something that they may not confirm just yet, with the game not having seen its initial current-gen launch, there’s a good chance that it will inevitably happen.

In the here and now, Cyberpunk 2077 is in the last legs of its development process, and will be out for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on April 16.
