Unveiled during the Xbox E3 2019 presser – by none other than Keanu Reeves himself – Cyberpunk 2077 did offer a bit of a sneak peek at its gameplay. Combat, including weapons like energy whips embedded in one’s arms, traversal via motorcycle, and of course, the release date announcement were all provided. Check it out below for yourself.
Unfortunately, this is as much gameplay as non-E3 2019 attendees will be seeing, at least until Gamescom. In a secret message discovered via the Collector’s Edition unboxing video, CD Projekt RED indicated that it wanted to hype the game up further en route to release. That means showcasing gameplay at Gamescom and PAX in August, with corresponding reveal streams.
Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Reeves was revealed to be playing Johnny Silverhand, “legendary rockerboy” who now seemingly wants to burn Night City to the ground. The game is confirmed to run at 4K resolution on the Xbox One X – hopefully more details emerge as E3 2019 rolls on.
