Cyberpunk 2077 Is More of A Noir Tale About People, Says CD Projekt RED Head

CD Projekt RED's studio head talks about the upcoming RPG's story.

Being a CD Projekt RED game, it’s not surprising that the thing about Cyberpunk 2077 people are most excited about is its story and storytelling, something that the Polish studio has talked about extensively in the past. In a recent interview with YouTube channel Polsat Games (which you can view below), CD Projekt RED head Adam Badowski spoke a bit more about it.

The interview’s in Polish, so you might not understand (unless you know Polish, of course). However, thanks to translations from a user on Reddit, we know about some of the more notable stuff talked about in the interview. Badowski notes that the story of Cyberpunk 2077 does not postulate the state of the society in the future, but instead is more of a noir tale about people. Something that they’ve been mindful of while making the game is making sure that everything is immersive and believable, in spite of its futuristic setting.

Badowski also talks about the subject of philosophy, and says that it’s useful when trying to tell a story in games, something that CDPR have suggested earlier as well, while he also confirmed that the story will be “multi-layered” and will have numerous pop-culture references.

Cyberpunk 2077 is due out- we don’t know when, actually. However, CDPR claims releasing the game on current-gen systems is their plan, while recent rumours have mentioned a possible 2019 release.
