Cyberpunk 2077 Not Releasing This Year – Rumour

Kotaku's Jason Schreier insists that it's "absolutely not" out in 2019.

Among the many hotly anticipated titles for E3 2019, Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED is arguably at the top of many lists. Though it won’t be playable, the development team will be showcasing it, offering the first update for the game since the 45 minute gameplay demo it showcased last year. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for a surprise release this year, we’ve got some bad news.

According to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier on Twitter, Cyberpunk 2077 is “absolutely not” releasing this year. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean there won’t be a release window announced at E3 or such. But at this point, it seems there’s a chance that it will be joining The Last of Us: Part 2 in 2020 as opposed to, say, Death Stranding in November 2019 (if recent rumours are to be believed).

Despite showcasing so much gameplay last year, CD Projekt RED did state multiple times that it may not represent the final product. If the title’s scale is to be believed, then it makes sense for the developer to take as much time as possible with it. Either way, Cyberpunk 2077 is still slated for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
